The suspects, identified as Umar Babuga, Mohammed Ahmed, Aliyu Buba Alade, Sidi Buba Alade, and Sheu Buba Alade, were apprehended by operatives of the command after intelligence-led investigations linked them to the crisis.

“The five suspects listed above were apprehended by operatives of the Kwara State Police Command in connection with the incident that occurred at Oke-Ode on the 28th of September, 2025. They are currently in custody and are undergoing investigation,” the statement read in part.
Though details of the Oke-Ode incident remain sketchy, sources within the community had earlier reported that the unrest was triggered by a clash between rival groups, leading to tension and disruption of normal activities in the area. The police had swiftly deployed reinforcements to restore order and prevent escalation.
The latest arrests, according to security analysts, reflect the command’s ongoing efforts to strengthen community safety and curb violent crimes across the state, particularly in rural communities that have witnessed pockets of communal and criminal disturbances in recent months.
Kwara State Commissioner of Police has repeatedly assured residents that the command remains committed to protecting lives and property, urging the public to cooperate with law enforcement by providing timely information that could aid ongoing investigations.
“We want to reassure citizens that no stone will be left unturned in bringing those responsible for the Oke-Ode violence to justice. The command will continue to work closely with community leaders to sustain peace and security,” a senior police officer said.
Meanwhile, calm has since returned to Oke-Ode following increased police presence and deployment of troops in the area
