WOLE SOYINKA CENTRE/ALBARKA FM HOLDS ONE-DAY TOWN HALL MEETING ON COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT IN KWARA
Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism in collaboration with Albarka 89.9 FM, Ganmo, Kwara State on Tuesday 25th of June, organized a one-day sensitization program on community development in the state.
The participants which drawn from various communities and representatives of civil society organizations in the state were sensitized on the role of the community and government in community development.
The program funded by the MacArthur Foundation was held at the City-In-Hotel, G.R.A Ilorin.
Participants were sensitized on the importance of knowing their representatives and frequent engagement with them on their community needs by the duo of Kayode Abdulazeez and Bukola Adeniyi.
Also speaking at the event a public affairs analyst Comrade Lanre Osho, talked about the need for the citizens to know their representative in government and always engage them based on thedevelopment.
He also urged the participants and community at large to always take responsibility for any project facilitated to their community said they are the beneficiaries of it, not the government and they should do everything possible to safeguard it.
The participants however appreciated the organizers of the programme and lauded Albarka FM on their various enlightenment and informative programmes and for being a voice of the voiceless insociety
