Wole Soyinka Centre/Albarka FM Holds One-Day Media Roundtable On Good Governance and Responsibilities of the Media
The Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism in collaboration with Albarka 89.9 FM, Ganmo, Kwara State on Tuesday 11th of June, organized a one-day media roundtable on “Good Governance and Responsibilities of the Media.” with participants drawn from media organizations and practitioners across Kwara state.
The Enlightenment programme which was funded by the MacArthur Foundation was held at City-In-Hotel, G.R.A Ilorin, with media executives and journalists from conventional and new media in attendance.

speaks on ‘News trends in Investigative Journalism: Uncovering truths’ and ‘Holding Government Accountable and
Digital Resilience: The key to Ensuring the credibility and Trustworthiness of information, respectively.
In her paper which was delivered via Zoom, Joke charged participants to embrace modern trends, ethical practices, and technological advancements to aid them in continue being relevant in the profession
She put the participants through the modern tools and ways of writing acceptable investigative reports that would drive societal change.
In his lecture, Mayowa charged the participants with cyber security and clues to guide against unwarranted access to their personal information on the internet.
The participants also made contributions and lauded the organizers of the programme and the quality of resource persons said the programme was an opener to contemporary knowledge in the field of investigative Journalism and cyber security.
