Wole Soyinka Centre/Albarka FM Holds One-Day Media Round-table On Good governance and Accountability: Toward a peaceful election in Kwara State
The Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative journalism in collaboration with Albarka 89.9 FM, Ganmo, Kwara State on Wednesday 8th of February organised a one-day media round-table program on “Good governance and Accountability: Toward a peaceful election in Kwara State, with participants drawn from media organizations and practitioners across Kwara state.
The round-table program funded by the MacArthur Foundation was held at City-In-Hotel, G.R.A Ilorin, with media practitioners and journalists from conventional and new media in attendance.
Speaking at the event, the resource person, Nicholas Nwaruoye, Bureau Chief of Daily Independent charged the participating journalists to always deploy their platform in championing good governance and accountability.
He also urged participants to take advantage of the electioneering period to sensitize the electorate on the need for them to make informed decisions on their choice of candidates in the forthcoming general elections, said their choice would determine the next phase of development they will be witnessing in the country and at various communities.
Participants also shared their experiences in the field of work.
