The Independent National Electoral Commission has set January 2023 as its proposed date for publication of voter`s register, ahead of the 2023 general election.
The Commission disclosed this today at the two-day Capacity Building Workshop for INEC Press Corps on critical issues in the Electoral Act, 2022, and the Commission’s Processes, Innovations, Preparations for the 2023 General Election.
It had been reported that INEC found one million-one hundred and twenty-six thousand-three hundred and fifty-nine records out of the two million-five hundred and twenty-three thousand-four hundred and fifty-eight fresh registrants that registered between June 28, 2021, and January 14, 2022, to be invalid and consequently delisted them.
