Gov Okowa, wife test positive for Covid-19

Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, and his wife have tested positive for COVID-19.
The governor announced this on his twitter handle Wednesday, saying he and his wife are well and remain in isolation.
With this confirmation, Okowa has joined the list of Nigerian state governors who have contracted the disease. The other governors who have tested positive to the virus are Nasiru El-Rufai of Kaduna, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo. Former governor of Oyo state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi died recently as a result of complications from the disease.
Governor Okowa’s knew of his health condition as a result of tests conducted on his family after a few days of self-isolation.
The governor and his family went into isolation on Friday after one of their daughters tested positive for the virus.
A statement by the Governor’s spokesman, Olisa Ifeajika said the governor and his wife are stable and have commenced necessary treatment, and further isolation.
The governor thanked the people of Delta state and called for continued supplications for all patients undergoing treatment for the pandemic.
