DISOBEDIENCE TO S’COURT ON NAIRA POLICY DANGEROUS, ACF WARNS BUHARI
The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has warned President Muhammadu Buhari that his continuous silence and disobedience to the Supreme Court ruling on the use of the old naira notes could lead to the breakdown of law and order.
ACF’s Secretary-General, Murtala Aliyu, made this known as he agreed with the governors of Kaduna, Kogi and Zamfara states who sued the Federal Government over the policy.
Aliyu said the current approach of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) raises concerns about the respect for the civil liberties and rights of Nigerians as it relates to their freedom to use legitimately earned income as they so wish.
He further said that the president, as under a oath, should respect the Constitution by obeying the apex court judgment.
