The court of Appeal in Abuja has nullified the  conviction and seven years jail term of Mr Olisa Metuh, the former  spokesman of the main opposition party, People’s Democratic Party by a Federal High court, Abuja
The three man panel of the appellate court presided by Justice Stephen Adah in a unanimous judgement held that the proceedings of the lower court leading to the conviction of Metuh and his company, Dextra Investment Limited were tainted with bias and  therefore must not allow to stand
justice Adah held that the utterances of the lower court judge,Justice Okon Bang in the course of the trial showed that he was biased against the convict. The court therefore ordered a fresh trial .
He directed that the case file be sent back to the Chief Judge of the Federal High court for reassignment to another Judge other than justice Abang.
Justice Abang had in his judgment delivered on Twenty-fifth of February, 2020 sentenced Metuh to seven years in prison for fraudulently receiving 400 Hundred Million from the office of the then National security Adviser , Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd).
